The Green Book CD-ROM is the first interactive CD-ROM that helps you to find anything you want in Singapore instantly.
The Contents Screen is the main screen that you access upon entering the CD-ROM, and with a click of a button, you can search by the specific product or service, brand name, or profile of the company that you need.
The Products & Services Search
allows you to target the companies that carry the specific item you are looking for. You can also refine your search by way of location or brand name.
The Brand Names Search allows you to search for a specific brand name (e.g. 3M), and it will display a description of the products and the corresponding companies that sell them.
The Company Info Search
will help you to locate the profile of a specific company, which includes the brand names of products or services that it carries.
The Specific Guides allow you to find all of the information you need related to a particular topic even faster. For example, by selecting The Wedding Guide you will find information on Bridal Shops, Wedding Photographers, Restaurants, Wedding Announcements and Invitations, etc. without the need for multiple searches.
You can send a fax or E-mail to a company to inquire about a product.
Contents Screen
On this main screen, there are Search Options which will allow you to search our database by Products & Services, Brand Names, Company
Information, or Specific Guides (e.g. Wedding Guide, Computer Guide, etc.) By clicking any of these buttons you will be taken to the corresponding search screen.
In additional, there are also the Kiasu Guides (e.g. Food & Entertainment in Singapore, Tourist Attractions, Public Transport, etc.) and Great Bargains, which allows you to print discount vouchers from over 250 stores in Singapore. You can save on cruises, restaurants, clothing,
computers and more! Clicking on SmartMove icon will invoke the SmartMove Mapping Engine, which is a great help in locating the geography of a company. For those wanting to satisfy their tase buds and eager for local food gourmet, our Best Food in Singapore recommendation is a great bet. Reading Room provides interesting articles from such magazines as Channel, Health Digest, PCWorld, The Web, Financial Planner, etc.
By selecting the buttons in the CD Features section on the side menu, you will get a short description of all of the unique functions provided in the CD-ROM. These features are Print, Bookmark, Mailing Labels, E-mail/Fax/Enquiry, and thegreenbook.com link (this function requires Internet connection).
The About Us button links to our company’s profile and the How To Advertise button will describe the benefits of advertising with us and allows you
to request for one of our sales representatives visit to tell you more. While TGB Printed, TGB CD-ROM and TGB Internet button links will invoke a brief introduction to the various media of advertisements that the company carries.
Search Screen
Clicking on the Products & Services, Brand Names, or Company Info button will bring up the Search Screen for each respective topic. The functionality of the buttons on this screen is similar for the three topics. You can do a specific search by typing in the search textbox, and then clicking the Search button. Alternatively, you can use them A-Z hotkey buttons for searching in alphabetical order.
Products & Services Screen
When you search under the Products & Services button, you will be taken to this screen. The screen will display a list of companies carrying the specific product or service. The listing is ordered in the following manner:
·Companies with advertisements in the CD-ROM;
·Companies with advertisements in other versions of the Green Book;
·Companies that do not yet have advertisements with The Green Book.
Companies with advertisements in the Green Book CD-ROM will be listed in bold red text, and you may see the advertisement by double clicking on the company name when prompted.
To narrow down your search from the listings, you can click on the four buttons provided on screen below the listings:

Telephone No
View on Map
By clicking on the Print button, you will be able to print the listings of all the companies in that classification.
After selecting the name of a particular company, you can send them an enquiry by clicking the E-mail/Fax/Enquiry button. This will allow you to quickly and easily send an electronic or printed enquiry form to them.
You can add a bookmark for a selected company by clicking once to select the name of a particular company and pressing the Bookmark button.
Brand Names Screen
This screen is accessed upon your searching under the Brand Names button, and it displays all the companies carrying the Brand Name with a description of the products. The listing is ordered in the following manner:
·Companies with advertisements in the CD-ROM;
·Companies with advertisements in other versions of the Green Book;
·Companies that do not yet have advertisements with The Green Book.
Companies with advertisements in the Green Book CD-ROM will be listed in bold red text, and you may see the advertisement by double clicking on the company name when prompted.
By clicking on the Print button you will be able to print the listings of all of the companies selling that brand name.
After selecting the name of a particular company, you can send them an enquiry by clicking the E-mail/Fax/Enquiry button. This will allow you to
quickly and easily send an electronic or printed enquiry form to them.
Company Info Screen
This screen is accessed by searching under the Company Info button, and it will display the profile of the respective company and the products it
carries. If the company has an advertisement on the CD-ROM, you will be able to click on the prompt to reach the ad.
By clicking on the Print button you will be able to print the information listed about the company.
You can send the company an enquiry by pressing the E-mail/Fax/Enquiry button. This will allow you to quickly and easily send an electronic or printed enquiry form to them.
Specific Guides Screen
This screen is designed to help you find what you are looking for even faster. By selecting one of our 32 specific guides you can find all of the information you need related to that particular topic. For example, by selecting The Wedding Guide you will find information on Bridal Shops, Wedding Photographers, Restaurants, Wedding Announcements and Invitations, etc. All of the related products and services are combined into
one to allow you to find them without multiple searches. The remainder of the screens are similar to other Products and Services search.
Kiasu Guides Screen
This screen is designed to provide overseas visitors with useful information about Singapore such as places for food and entertainment, government departments, public transport and services, etc. It can also help those who entertain visitors by giving ideas of where to go and what to do when
your guests are in town. Each of the topics on the screen is clickable, and will route the user to the specific screen for detailed information.
Email/Fax/Enquiry Dialog
This dialog is accessed each time you click on the E-mail/Fax/Enquiry button.
The radio buttons (Print, Fax, E-mail) in the Transmission Mode frame determines the mode of enquiry. When you access this screen by way of the E-mail/Fax/Enquiry button, the default mode is set at Print.
Print
When you select the print mode you have the option of printing enquiries for multiple companies from your bookmark list. To do this press the
Select From Bookmark List and select the companies you would like to send an enquiry to by clicking in the box to the left of the company name. This will allow you to easily send the same message to several companies.
Fax
If you select Fax, a dropdown menu will ask which COM port your modem is attached to (typically Com 2).
E-mail
If you select E-mail be sure that your user profile specifies an E-mail Server and an E-mail Address. If you need to change this select the View User Info button at the top of the box.
If your E-mail service is provided by one of the main ISP’s in Singapore type the following in the E-mail server box in your user profile.

Mailing Labels Dialog
When you click on the Mailing Labels button, it will bring you to the search screen shown below:
1 After typing in the classification and clicking the search button, you will see the results in a dialog box that will look as follows:

In this screen you can select the desired classifications that you would like to print by checking the box next to the name of the classification. Select All will allow you to print labels for all of the classifications listed. Clear All will clear the selected companies. Continue will allow you to proceed in the process of creating the labels. You may also retrace your steps by clicking on GoBack. In this dialog, you may also add in a destination from the pull down menu or customize.
After you have clicked on Continue, all of the companies will be listed in a box that looks like the following:
3 In the screen above, you may change the destination by double clicking in respective cell or selecting a cell, and then click on the Edit button. Click Continue to proceed.
4 In this screen, you need to select a label type from the pull down menu to proceed. . Then click Continue to proceed.
5 From this new screen, you will be able to choose Print Preview, Print or Delete selected companies from the mailing label list.
